The 2025 Wendell Historical Society Reverse Raffle will be held at the Wendell Community Center on Thursday, September 19.

Dinner  – 6:00 pm
Raffle begins – 7:00 pm

You do not have to be present to win the raffle.
If you are unable to attend you can still purchase tickets online and watch live on the Wendell Historical Society Facebook.

What is a reverse raffle?

In its simplest form, it’s a raffle where tickets are drawn and eliminated one by one, and the last ticket remaining is the winner.

We add a few twists to our reverse raffle.  We sell only 300 tickets, so you have a 1 in 300 chance to win $10,000. It operates electronically, with all the names placed on a large colored wheel. (Think: Wheel of Fortune)  Each time the wheel spins, one name is eliminated.

When we reach the last 10 names standing – the group can decide if they want to split the $10,000 grand prize 10 ways (the decision must be unanimous).  If the group does not decide to split, then we keep spinning and eliminating names to determine a final winner for the $10,000 grand prize, and a second place winner for $500.

The first name eliminated, and every 25th name, earns back the cost of a raffle ticket – $100.

We also run sideboards where you can enter drawings to win smaller cash prizes.

Add in food, friends and neighbors – and it’s a fun community event not to be missed!
