Peggy Lee Mead (Laughery)

Peggy Lee Mead (Laughery) is a local NC artist with community murals featured throughout Wendell.

Studying Art at California State University Long Beach, Peggy graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Art “Cum Laude.”.  Peggy continued her love of art through Printmaking and Graphic Design courses, and for many years she ran her own prominent design business, specializing in murals, exquisite wall finishes and custom painted furniture.

Her mural work can be found in multiple States throughout the South East, including local  hospitals, restaurants, corporate offices, churches and high end custom homes.  Her talents were also showcased on the show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

Peggy’s local murals in the Town of Wendell are:

1. Train Mural at the corner of Cypress St and 3rd.

2. “Where we love is Home” Map of North Carolina at Main St. and Wendell Blvd.

3. Tree of Hope on Wendell Blvd.

Peggy is currently studying pottery at the local Zebulon Pottery here in Wendell, as well as designing Wendell themed greeting cards. Peggy teaches seasonal Wine and Paint classes, in partnership with the local Whistlestop Bottleshop. Her classes are a fun way for friends to gather and be creative. She is available for corporate events, bridal parties and birthdays.
